Flaked Cereal Processing
Corn Flakes Production Line
A specialized cereal line for cooked, formed, flaked, dried and toasted corn flakes. Unlike directly expanded snacks, corn flakes require controlled cooking and a dedicated flaking stage to achieve consistent thickness, color and crispness.
Models And Reference Capacity
The extruder establishes the main output range. Drying, coating, milling, cooling and packing equipment must be sized around the same product load.
| ZEKO configuration | Reference output |
|---|---|
| ZK-70 | Approx. 100 kg/h |
| ZK-75 | Approx. 300 kg/h |
| ZK-85 | Approx. 300 kg/h |
The equipment schedule notes that the corn-flour material must be cooked before final forming. Actual output depends on formula preparation, cooking level, flake thickness, drying and toasting requirements.
Products This Line Can Support
Finished-product requirements guide the formula discussion, die tooling, process stages and downstream configuration.
Production Process
A practical process flow for project discussion. Individual stages are adjusted according to formula, product quality and factory utilities.
Equipment Scope And Configuration
A useful quotation separates the required process from optional automation and packing equipment.

Typical Equipment Scope
- Mixer and pre-conditioning equipment
- Twin-screw extrusion and forming section
- Conditioning conveyor or holding stage
- Flaking rollers
- Drying and high-temperature toasting system
- Optional coating, cooling and packing connection
Important Project Decisions
- Cooking level determines whether the cereal material can be formed and flaked consistently.
- Roll gap controls flake thickness and must match the conditioned pellet size.
- Drying and toasting are separate quality controls for moisture, color and crispness.
- Coated products require syrup preparation, coating and final moisture correction.
Information Needed For Quotation
Send these details so ZEKO can select the process, output platform, utilities and workshop layout without relying on a generic equipment list.
- Target flake photos, dimensions and thickness
- Corn material specification and formula
- Plain or coated finished product
- Required hourly output
- Voltage, heat source and workshop layout

Practical answers about products, capacity and line configuration.
How is a corn flakes line different from a puffed snack line?
Corn flakes require controlled cooking, pellet forming, conditioning and roller flaking before drying and toasting. Directly expanded snacks leave the die in their final expanded shape.
Which ZEKO configurations are available?
Reference configurations are ZK-70 at approximately 100 kg/h and ZK-75 or ZK-85 at approximately 300 kg/h.
Can the line make coated corn flakes?
Yes. Syrup preparation, coating and an additional drying or cooling stage can be included for sweetened or flavored products.
What controls flake thickness?
Conditioned pellet size, roller gap, material temperature and moisture all affect final flake thickness and breakage.
Which information is needed before quotation?
Provide the corn material, formula, target flake size, coating requirement, capacity, voltage, heat source and workshop dimensions.
